Watch live as SpaceX targets a Falcon 9 launch of the Mission Extension Pod (MEP) for Northrop Grumman. Liftoff is targeted for Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
The payload, Northrop Grumman’s Mission Robotic Vehicle and Mission Extension Pod, is designed to perform in-orbit satellite servicing—attaching to aging geostationary satellites to provide propulsion and extend their operational lifespan. Following stage separation, the Falcon 9 first-stage booster will return to Earth and attempt a landing on the “A Shortfall of Gravitas” droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
