Liftoff is targeted from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Following stage separation, the flight-proven Falcon 9 first-stage booster will return to Earth for a precision landing on the droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean.
What is a Transporter Mission?
Historically, launching a satellite meant buying an entire rocket for tens of millions of dollars. SpaceX’s rideshare program acts like a space carpool. By packing dozens of smaller satellites from different companies and universities into one Falcon 9 payload fairing, the cost of reaching space drops drastically. “Transporter” is the specific name for missions heading to a Sun-Synchronous Orbit, a polar orbit perfect for Earth-imaging and weather tracking. Once in space, the rocket doesn’t dump them all at once. The satellites are attached to a massive central dispenser column and pushed off one-by-one in a highly choreographed sequence. Some even deploy on space tugs that drive them to custom orbits later.

This mission carries a massive variety of cubesats, microsatellites, and orbital transfer vehicles for commercial, academic, and government customers:
– Earth Observation & Radar: Satellites capable of capturing high-resolution optical imagery and radar data, even through clouds or in total darkness, for agricultural monitoring and disaster response.
– Climate, Weather & Greenhouse Gas Tracking: Environmental monitors designed to precisely measure atmospheric conditions, track global weather patterns, and detect industrial methane leaks.
– Communications & IoT: Small satellites dedicated to improving global connectivity, secure data transfer, and supporting the Internet of Things across remote areas.
– Scientific, Academic & Technology Demonstrators: Student-built university projects and experimental hardware testing new space technologies, ranging from ionosphere research to new navigation systems.
– Space Tugs / Orbital Transfer Vehicles: Specialized spacecraft that carry other smaller satellites on board, firing their own thrusters after deployment to deliver their cargo to precise, custom orbits.
