SpaceX is preparing for what could be the most important Starship flight yet! Flight 15 is approaching, and SpaceX is planning to attempt something never done before: catching BOTH Super Heavy Booster 22 and Starship Ship 42 back at Starbase!
With both vehicles having completed their static fire campaigns, attention is turning to final preparations, FAA approvals, and a potential November 12 launch date. Flight 15 could also see Ship 42 spend roughly 24 hours in orbit before returning to Starbase for its historic catch attempt.
Meanwhile, Flight 16 is taking shape! Booster 23 and Ship 43 have completed cryogenic testing, with preparations continuing for what could become Starship's first launch from Florida's Kennedy Space Center at Launch Complex 39A.
In this week's Starship Update, we're covering all the latest developments across SpaceX's Starship program, including:
🚀 Flight 15: Booster 22 and Ship 42 prepare for a potential historic double catch, with a possible 24-hour orbital mission.
🚀 Flight 16: Booster 23 and Ship 43 move closer to flight as SpaceX prepares for Starship's Florida debut.
🏗️ Starbase Production: Ship 44 and Ship 45 progress through assembly, Booster 24 completes stacking, and work begins on Booster 25.
🏗️ Launch Infrastructure: Major progress on Pad 1's new Orbital Launch Mount, flame trench, and supporting infrastructure.
🌕 Starship's Future: What does it actually mean for Starship to become operational? We explore the milestones still ahead, from rapid reuse to orbital propellant transfer and NASA's Artemis program.
🔥 McGregor: New Raptor engine testing, including unusually short-duration firings and what they might tell us about Raptor 3 development.
With Flight 15 approaching, Flight 16 potentially bringing Starship to Florida, and orbital refueling demonstrations on the horizon, the next few months could be transformative for SpaceX.
